2021 Bedrock Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot Blend

Bedrock Vineyard is located in the Sonoma Valley and farmed by our good friend Morgan Twain Peterson.  The vineyard itself has a long viticultural history starting about 150 years ago, when it was founded in 1854 by Generals William “Tecumseh” Sherman and General Hooker.

+ This blend is 53% Merlot and 47% Cabernet Sauvignon.

+ The two varieties were completely destemmed, then fermented and aged separately for 15 months.  They were blended two months before bottling.  

+ The Merlot brings the softer, broader, more velvety component plus some plum notes while the Cabernet contributes the more punchy berry flavors of currants and black cherry while adding some firmness to the structure.
